Protective clothing—Chemical protective clothing against solid particulates
1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification, basic performance requirements, test methods and marking of chemical protective clothing against solid particulates.
This standard is applicable to protective clothing required for skin protection of workers who are exposed to particulate chemical pollution in the workplace environment.
This standard does not specify the technical requirements for supporting respiratory protective equipment, protective gloves, protective shoes and other personal protective equipment.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
particle
suspended solids or solid particles in a gaseous medium with negligible falling speed
Note 1: Volatile or permeable toxic particles are not included.
Note 2: "Negligible falling speed" is usually lower than 0.25 m/s.
3.2
inward leakage
ratio of the concentration of pollutants leaking into the clothing from various parts of the protective clothing, including material and joins, to the concentration of pollutants in the environment
Note: The inward leakage is expressed as a percentage.
3.3
penetration efficiency
percentage of particulate matters passing through protective clothing material
4 Technical requirements
4.1 General
4.1.1 The material and accessories used for the chemical protective clothing against solid particulates (hereinafter referred to as protective clothing) shall be free from skin irritation and health hazards.
4.1.2 The protective clothing shall be as comfortable as possible with good protective performance. The comfortableness of material shall be evaluated giving full consideration and assessment over the permeability, damp-heat resistance and other properties of the materials. On the premise of ensuring the strength of materials and the protective performance of protective clothing, materials with small mass per unit area should be used as far as possible.
4.1.3 Protective clothing shall be compatible with other relevant personal protective equipment as far as possible.
4.1.4 After maintenance according to the method recommended by the manufacturer, the protective clothing that can be used for many times shall meet the requirements specified in 4.3.
