GB/T 29578-2013 Detection and identification of Xanthomonas albilineans (Ashby) Dowson
1 Scope
This standard specifies the detection and identification of Xanthomonas albilineans (Ashby) Dowson.
This standard is applicable to the detection and identification of sugarcane leaf scald disease in sugarcane seedlings, stalks and other plant materials.

3 Basic information of Xanthomonas albilineans (Ashby) Dowson
Scientific name: Xanthomonas albilineans (Ashby) Dowson.
English name of the disease: sugarcane leaf scald disease.
Kingdom of Bacteria, phylum of Proteobacteria, class of Gammaproteobacteria, order of Xanthomonodales, family of Xanthomonodaceae and genus of Xanthomonas.
The disease transmits mainly rely on susceptible strains and in a mechanical way; infected sugarcane seeding is the main mode of transmission of the disease, and cutting knives (including loaded mechanized cutters) are also an important source of transmission. Rodents, and pests such as beetles, locusts, leafhoppers, and sugarcane borers are also responsible for the spread of sugarcane leaf scald disease.
See Annex A for other basic information on Xanthomonas albilineans (Ashby) Dowson.
