Head protection - Code of practice for selection and use of industrial safety helmets
1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements for the selection, use, maintenance, and scrapping of industrial safety helmet.
This standard is applicable to occupational industrial safety helmet.
This standard is not applicable to the selection and use of head protection equipment for sports, firefighting, motorcycle driving and other purposes.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the terms and definitions specified in GB/T 12903-2008 and GB 2811-2007 as well as the followings apply.

industrial safety helmet
helmets protecting the human head from injuries caused by falling objects and other specific factors, which consists of a shell, harness, chins trap and accessories
3.2
harness
general term for the internal components of the shell, which consists of the headband, sweatband, inner cushion, and liner strip

3.3
work at low temperature
works with the average temperature of the workplace equal to or less than 5 ℃ during production

3.4
personal protective equipment; PPE
general term for all the protective gear worn, equipped and used by workers to defend themselves against physical, chemical, biological and other external factors
Note: Labor protection articles worn, equipped and used in production workplaces is also called personal protective equipment.

4 Requirements for selection of industrial safety helmet
4.1 General
4.1.1 The industrial safety helmet shall meet the requirements of GB 2811-2007.
4.1.2 The industrial safety helmet shall be selected within the specified life of products.
4.1.3 All parts of the industrial safety helmet shall be in good condition and free from anomalies.
4.1.4 The manufacturer shall obtain the relevant qualification specified by the state and the relevant qualifications shall be within the validity period.
4.1.5 The industrial safety helmet shall be selected in the sequence of function, style, color, and material, with the selection procedure shown in Figure A.1.

4 Requirements for selection of industrial safety helmet
4.1 General
4.1.1 The industrial safety helmet shall meet the requirements of GB 2811-2007.
4.1.2 The industrial safety helmet shall be selected within the specified life of products.
4.1.3 All parts of the industrial safety helmet shall be in good condition and free from anomalies.
