1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, symbols and interpretations, components and materials, technical requirements, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage, inspection and monitoring of external prestressing tendons (hereinafter referred to as external tendon).
This standard is applicable to newly-built prestressed concrete girder bridge structures. Reference may be made to this standard for the external tendons used for maintenance and reinforcement of existing bridge structures and for other structures.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GBJ 132 and the following apply.
3.1
external prestressing tendon components
assembly of external prestressing tendon, anchorage device, deviator, damper, etc.
3.2
external prestressing tendon
combination of external tensile elements of tendon and its corrosion prevention and protection
3.3
external tensile elements of tendon
steel strand outside the section of a member that is prestressed
3.4
deviator
device that changes the direction of transmission of force in a prestressing tendon so as to let the external tensile elements of tendon deviate in a centralized way
3.5
damper
device for reducing vibration amplitude of external prestressing tendon and changing natural vibration frequency of external prestressing tendon to avoid resonance with structure
3.6
duct
protective sleeve that is externally wrapped or sleeved on external tensile elements of tendon to prevent corrosion and mechanical damage of the external tensile elements of tendon

1 Scope
