1 Scope
This standard specifies the electrical performancerequirements, test methods and inspection rules for traction battery (hereinafter referred to as "battery") of electric vehicles.
This standard is applicable to the lithium ion battery and nickel-metal hydride battery cells and modules installed on electric vehicles, and other types of batteries may also refer to this standard.

For the purposes of this document, the terminologies and definitions defined in GB/T 2900.41 and GB/T 19596 and the following ones apply.

The basic unit device which directly transforms chemical energy into electric energy, includeselectrode, diaphragm, electrolyte, enclosure and terminal and is also designed to be rechargeable.
