1 Scope
This standard specifies the general provisions, ground systems, sports equipment, fence facilities, lighting facilities, mark systems, configuration requirements of other facilities, inspection methods and judgment rules for multi-sports public playground in city communities (hereinafter referred to as "playground").
This standard is applicable to outdoor multi-sports public playground with synthetic surface. This standard may serve as a reference for other fitness playgrounds.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
city community
area under the jurisdiction of subdistrict office, that under the jurisdiction of neighborhood committee with its scale adjusted after the reform of the community system, or area determined in the urban planning where there has a certain number of urban residents

3.2
multi-sports public playground
public welfare sports ground for two or more sports and open to the public which generally consists of a single piece of sport field, sports equipment, fence facilities, lighting system and mark system
Note: Multi-sports public playground is usually dominated by ball games and may also be used for other fitness activities.
4 General provisions
4.1 Basic principles
4.1.1 Unified planning and reasonable layout shall be carried out with community construction.
4.1.2 The planning and construction shall meet the relevant national requirements for energy conservation, land saving, water conservation, material saving and environmental protection.
4.1.3 Full consideration shall be given to the topography of the community site in site selection, and relatively open and flat area without too large gradient shall be selected.
4.1.4 It shall be set up in an area in the community with relatively concentrated residential and service facilities and convenient transportation and away from high-voltage facilities, high-temperature facilities and other dangerous facilities.
4.1.5 It shall be designed as an emergency shelter.
4.1.6 The accessible facilities shall meet the requirements of GB 50763.
4.1.7 The arrangement of playground shall not affect the normal life of community members, and measures shall be taken to reduce the influence of noise and light on the surroundings.
4.1.8 The area and quantity of the playground should be determined based on the preferred sports.
4.2 Setting of sports
4.2.1 Sports popular with the local people shall be set, giving full consideration to the climate, humanity and ethnic characteristics of the community.
4.2.2 Sport with a large number of participants at the same time shall be set as the preferred sport.
4.2.3 It shall be coordinated with other sports facilities and sports in the community to meet the fitness needs of people of different ages and disabled people in the community.
4.2.4 The number of ball sports should not be more than 3.
4.3 Ground maintenance and management
4.3.1 The equipment and facilities configured shall meet the requirements of relevant quality and safety standards.
4.3.2 A registration, maintenance and use management system shall be established for grounds, equipment and ancillary facilities.
4.3.3 Personnel shall be arranged to clean and maintain the ground facilities on a regular basis and repair the faulty facilities in a timely manner.
4.3.4 Safety instructions, use instructions and other public marks for the playground shall be set in conspicuous positions.
4.3.5 The opening period shall not be less than 12 h per day (except during maintenance).
5 Ground system
5.1 Orientation and appearance
5.1.1 If conditions permit, the major axis of the ground shall be in the north-south direction.
5.1.2 The surface layer of the ground shall be firmly bonded to the foundation, without fracture, blistering, bulge, peeling, delamination or stepped concave-convex phenomenon.
5.1.3 The ground shall be uniform in color which is in contrast with the color of ball used in sports.
5.2 Specification and dimension
5.2.1 The specifications and buffer zones of various sports grounds shall meet the relevant requirements of JG/T 191-2006.
5.2.2 Marker lines or color blocks in different colors shall be adopted for different sports. If marker lines in different colors are adopted, the marker line for preferred sport should be white, followed by yellow, blue, red, etc., all of which shall be 50 mm wide.
5.2.3 The marker line on the ground shall be clear, without obvious dashed border.
5.2.4 See Annex A for examples of sport combination in playground.
5.3 Surface requirements
5.3.1 It is appropriate to coat or pave a synthetic material surface system (surface and elastic buffer layer thereunder) should be coated or paved on flat cement or asphalt foundation, such as plastic surface rubber surface, artificial turf surface, acrylic surface, etc. See Table 1 for conventional surface systems and applicable sports.
