Methylene chloride for industrial use
1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage and safety of methylene chloride for industrial use.
This standard is applicable to the production, inspection and sales of methylene chloride produced by methanol hydrochlorination process. This product is mainly used in solvents, extractants, cleaning agents, foaming agents, release agents, etc., and is also used as raw material for producing difluoromethane (HFC-32) and pharmaceutical industry.
Molecular formula: CH2Cl2
Relative molecular mass: 84.932 (as per the international relative atomic mass in 2005).

3.1 Appearance: colorless and clear liquid without suspended matter and mechanical impurities.
