Regulations for sampling and testing of wool
1 Scope
This document specifies the operation procedures and requirements for taking representative quality samples or lot samples from soft and hard sheep wool packages directly or using appropriate tools, the test methods of staple, wool base and fiber diameter, and the requirements for re-inspection and certification.
This document is applicable to the sampling process for raw wool production, trading, processing and quality supervision of sheep wool.

4.1 Bale breaker
4.1.1 Bale breaker for bale of non-thermoplastic material
Sharp knives and pliers.
4.1.2 Bale breaker for bale of thermoplastic material
Metal bar or sharp knives that can form slit cracks by melting packaging fabric without fuzzing.
4.2 Grab sampler
See A.1 and A.2 in Annex A for the jaw function of the grab sampler and the grab sampling method, respectively.
