3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
pledget
columnar cotton fiber or/and other cellulose fiber as the main absorption material, molded by special mechanical processing, wrapped with a layer of nonwovens, used for placing in vagina to absorb menstrual blood and secretions
4 Classification and specification
4.1 Classification
According to different insertion methods, disposable tampons can be divided into non-applicator (see Figure 1) and applicator disposable tampons (see Figure 2). The non-applicator disposable tampon consists of a pledget and a string, and the pledget needs to be inserted into the vagina through a finger for use; applicator disposable tampon is composed of pledget, string, applicator and plunger, and the pledget needs to be inserted into vagina through applicator and plunger.
