General rules for infrared analysis
1 Scope
This standard specifies the general rules for qualitative or quantitative analysis of organic and inorganic substances by infrared spectrometer absorption spectrometry.
This standard is applicable to infrared analysis with wave number ranging from 4,000 cm-1 to 400 cm-1 (wavelength 2.5 μm~25 μm).
2 References
The following standards contain provision which, through reference in this standard, constitute provisions of this standard. At the time of publication, all editions cited are valid. All standards are subject to revision, and all parties using this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the latest editions of the following standards.
GB/T 7764-2001 Rubber - Identification - Infra-red spectrometric method
GB/T 14666-1993 Terms for analytical chemistry
3 Definitions
The definitions of the main terms involved in this standard include the following definitions in addition to those specified in GB/T 14666:
3.1 transmittance
the ratio of radiant energy transmitted through the sample to incident radiant energy
3.2 baseline
in the absorption spectrum, a straight line or curve drawn in a certain way, which is used to represent the background absorption curve when the absorption band does not exist
3.3 sample thickness
the distance the radiation beam passes through the sample, usually expressed in centimeters
3.4 standard sample
substance with known composition, which is used as a standard and of which the chemical structure and analysis wavelength are the same as or very close to the substance to be tested
3.5 interferogram
the graph displayed with optical path difference of light as the horizontal axis and intensity of light as the vertical axis using the signal obtained by Michelson interferometer
