Scope
This Standard specifies terms and definitions, product types, basic parameter and classification, technical requirements, testing methods, inspection rules, marking, packing, transportation and storage of load cell used for quality measurement.
This Standard is applicable to measure load cell with static quality.
For the instruments that are used with load cell and display quality, their technical requirements are specified by other relevant standards.

Compressive force applied to a load cell.

Load cell
Force transducer which, after taking into account the effects of the acceleration of gravity and air buoyancy at the location of its use, measures mass by converting the measurand quantity (mass) into another measured quantity (output).

Load cell equipped with electronics
Load cell employing an electronic components having a recognizable function of its own.
Examples of electronics: p-n junction, amplifier, encoder, A/D converter, CPU, I/O interface, etc. (not including strain gauge bridge circuits).
