1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging and storage of solvent-thinned polyurethane coatings.
This standard is applicable to room temperature-cured two-component coatings for metal surfaces and indoor woodenware with polyester resins, alkyd resins and acrylic resins containing reactive functional groups as the main film former and polyisocyanate resins as curing agents.

3 Product classification
In this standard, solvent-thinned polyurethane coatings are divided into two types depending on the two areas to which they are mainly applied: Type I, coatings for indoor woodenware, and Type II, coatings for metal surface. Based on the functions of various types of coatings, Type I products are subdivided into finish paints for furniture factory and decoration, finish paints for floors and general purpose primer; Type II products are subdivided into finish paints for interior use and those for exterior use, with the former applicable to the surface decoration and protection of pipes, metal furniture and hardware products which are arranged indoors, and the latter applicable to the surface decoration and protection of metal equipment and components, bridges, chemical equipment and the like.
