1 Application Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, basic requirements, technical contents and inspection methods for environmental labeling product of air cleaner.
This standard is applicable to the air cleaner used by non-professional personnel for household, apartment and similar purposes.
This standard is not applicable to:
—The air cleaners specially designed for industrial purposes;
—The air cleaners used in special environment generating corrosive and explosive gas (e.g. dust, steam and methane gas);
—The air cleaners specially designed for medical purposes.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1 Air cleaner
The household and similar electrical appliances with certain removal capacity for one or more kinds of pollutants such as particulate matter (PM), gaseous pollutant and microorganism in the air. (GB/T 18801-2015)
3.2 Recyclability rate
The percentage ratio of the mass sum of reusable and renewable parts (excluding energy recovery part) in product to the mass of product. (GB/T 20861-2007)
3.3 Clean air delivery rate (CADR)
A parameter of the air cleaner for the cleaning capacity of the target pollutants (particulate matter and gaseous pollutant) under the rated condition and specified test condition; it indicates the rate of the air cleaner providing clean air. (GB/T 18801-2015)
3.4 Low noise operating condition
The operating condition of air cleaner at low noise level Note 1.
Note 1: the low noise level in this standard shall not be larger than 47dB(A) (sound power level).
3.5 Cleaning energy efficiency
The clean air delivery rate (CADR) generated by the air cleaner with unit power consumption under the rated conditions. (GB/T 18801-2015)
4 Basic Requirements
4.1 Product quality shall meet the requirements of GB/T 18801.
4.2 The safety performance, electromagnetic compatibility and degerming performance of product shall meet the requirements of corresponding national or professional standards.
4.3 The pollutant emission of product manufacturers shall meet the pollutant emission standards specified by the state or local governments.
4.4 Clean production shall be strengthened during the production of product manufacturer.
5 Technical Contents
5.1 Environmental design requirements of product
5.1.1 Easy recycling design
5.1.1.1 The recyclability rate of product shall not be less than 80%, with the calculation method detailed in Appendix A.
5.1.1.2 The plastic component heavier than 25g shall be made of single kind of polymer or copolymer.
5.1.1.3 The plastic component heavier than 25g and with plane surface area exceeding 200mm2 shall be marked according to the requirements of GB/T 16288.
5.1.2 Requirements for hazardous substances in components
5.1.2.1 The limitation requirements for restricted substances in product components (including filtering material) shall meet the requirements of GB/T 26572.
5.1.2.2 The substrate of shell and circuit board shall not be made of short chain chlorinated paraffin (SCCPs).
5.1.2.3 The plastic part with mass greater than 25g in the shell shall not be made of chlorine- or bromine-contained polymer and shall not be added with any flame retardant containing organochlorine compound or organobromine compound.
5.1.2.4 Except the electric wires and cables, as for the plastic parts with mass greater than 25g in the product, the phthalates listed in Appendix B shall not be used as plasticizer.
5.1.2.5 The benzo(a)pyrene content in the shell, keys and power lines of product shall not be greater than 20mg/kg, and the total amount of sixteen kinds of polycyclic aromatic hydrocabons (PAHs) listed in Appendix C shall not be greater than 200mg/kg.
5.1.2.6 As for the ultraviolet lamp used for the product, the mercury content of each lamp shall not exceed 15mg.
5.2 Requirements for production process of product
5.2.1 As for air cleaner, hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs), 1,1,1-trichloroethane (C2H3Cl3), trichloroethylene (C2HCl3), dichloroethane (CH3CHCl2), dichloromethane (CH2Cl2), trichloromethane (CHCl3), tetrachloromethane (CCl4), bromopropane (C3H7Br), etc. shall not be used as cleaning solvent.
5.2.2 During assembly and connection of components, leadless welding procedure shall be adopted.
5.3 Product requirements
5.3.1 Purification requirements for product against fine particulate matter (PM2.5)
5.3.1.1 CADR of product against fine particulate matter (PM2.5) shall meet the requirements specified in Table 1.

5.3.1.2 Cleaning energy efficiency of product against fine particulate matter (PM2.5) shall be no less than 5.0 m³/(W·h).
5.3.2 Purification requirements for product against formaldehyde or methylbenzene
5.3.2.1 The measured CADR of product against formaldehyde or methylbenzene shall be no less than 90% of nominal value.
5.3.2.2 Cleaning energy efficiency of product against formaldehyde or methylbenzene shall be no less than 1.0 m³/(W·h).
5.3.3 Requirements for product noise
5.3.3.1 The sound power level of product under low noise operating condition shall be no greater than 47dB(A) and that under the maximum air volume operating condition shall be no greater than 70dB(A).
5.3.3.2 The tolerance between the measured noise value and nominal value of product shall not be larger than +3dB(A).
5.4 Product packaging requirements
5.4.1 Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) shall not be used as foaming agent.
5.4.2 Total amount of lead, cadmium, mercury and hexavalent chromium shall be no greater than 100mg/kg.
5.4.3 It shall be marked in accordance with GB/T 18455.
5.5 Product description requirements
Product description shall not only meet the requirements of operating instructions in GB/T 18801 but also include the following contents:
a) Description to CADR and noise of product against fine particulate matter (PM2.5) under low noise operating condition;
b) Description to ozone output of product;
c) Indicative description to recovery processing of product;
d) Statement on realization of zero energy consumption condition only when the product is not connected with any external input power supply.

3 Terms and Definitions
