1 Scope
This standard specifies the air cleaner in terms of terms and definitions, model and designation, requirements, test method, inspection rules, marks, operating instructions, packaging, transportation and storage.
This standard is applicable to air cleaner for household and similar uses (hereinafter referred to as "cleaner").
This standard is applicable to, but not limited to the cleaners in the following working principles: filter, adsorption, complex, chemical catalytic, photocatalytic, electrostatic, plasma and composite types etc.
Note 1: The composite type refers to the cleaner that is able to remove one or more air pollutants in two or more cleaning principles.
Note 2: This standard is also applicable to evaluation of air cleaning functions of home appliance products which are capable of air cleaning such as air conditioner, dehumidifier and new fans.
The following products may refer to this standard:
——Small-sized cleaner, portable cleaner and cleaner for the passenger car;
——Airway-type cleaning device and other similar cleaners.
This standard does not apply to:
——Cleaner specially designed for industrial use;
——Cleaner for the special environment and locations of corrosive and explosive gas (such as dust, vapor and gas);
——Cleaners specially designed for medical use.
