1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation and storage with respect to polyester fiber gauntlets for lead-acid batteries (hereinafter referred to as guantlets).
It is applicable to the gauntlets for tubular plates of lead-acid batteries.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
tensile strength
the force to be applied so that gauntlets of unit width are damaged by tensile force
3.2
d-c resistance
the ability of the gauntlets to block ion migration in sulfuric acid solution, expressed as Ω•dm2
3.3
porosity
the ratio of the volume of pores in gauntlets to the total volume of gauntlets, expressed in percentage

1 Scope
