1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements, inspection and assessment methods, inspection rules for sizing material, sheet steel insert and finished products of rubber seals reinforced with a sheet steel insert (hereafter referred to as seal ring) for rolling bearings as well as the marking, packaging, transportation and storage methods.
This standard is applicable to inspection and acceptance of materials and finished product quality of rubber seals reinforced with a sheet steel insert. As for inspection and acceptance of materials and finished product of rubber seals without sheet steel insert, this standard may be executed by reference.

3 Technical Requirements
3.1 Sizing material for seal ring
3.1.1 Sizing materials for seal ring are nitrile rubber (NBR), modified nitrile rubber, polyacrylate rubber (ACM), hydrogenated nitrile rubber (HNBR) and fluororubber (FPM). Technical performance indexes of sizing materials shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 1; as for non-contact seal ring, the inspection on the items of abrasion volume is unnecessary. After determination through negotiation with the user, modified types of the above-mentioned sizing materials or other sizing materials meeting the service performance requirements may also be adopted.
