1 Subject Content and Scope of Application
This standard specifies the method for determination of A-weighted sound pressure level of packing machinery product and obtaining A-weighted sound power level by calculation.
This standard is applicable to the packing machinery products generating steady noises of radiation broadband, narrow-band, discrete frequency and their combination. And it is also applicable to the packing machinery product generating non-steady noise except the tone burst with the repetition rate less than 5 per second. This method especially is applicable to site measurement and it is not necessary to take the measured sound source to special acoustic environment. The volume of measured product shall be limited, and the part of major noise source shall be selected to measure the supersized product. The data measured by the method specified in this standard may be used to:
a Compare the products with similar dimensions and types;
b Evaluate the A-weighted sound power level of products.
