1.0.1 This standard is formulated with a view to improve the highway traffic safety and make the barrier installation of the highway more secure, reasonable, economic and applicable.
1.0.2 This standard is applicable to the safety performance evaluation of the various structural-style barrier standard sections of the new/rebuilt highways and highway bridges. The barriers and safety facilities of other roads may refer to this standard.
1.0.3 As for the highway barriers with various structural styles, the real vehicle full-scale crash tests shall be adopted for the safety performance evaluation.
When the real vehicle full-scale barrier impact test is carried out for each style of barrier, the small and large vehicles shall be respectively adopted for the test. As for the small vehicle test, the occupant safety and the vehicle running track after the impact shall be mainly evaluated; as for the large vehicle test, the barrier impact protection performance and its maximum dynamic deformation after the impact shall be mainly evaluated.
No matter it is the small vehicle or large vehicle in the test, so long as there is one index not meeting the standard requirements, the barrier shall be considered as unqualified and shall not be applied in the corresponding sections.
As for the barriers which are of the same structural style, if many times of tests are carried out, then the same model of vehicles shall be adopted as much as possible for each test.
1.0.4 The installation of the test barrier shall meet the requirements of "Specification for Design and Construction of Expressway Safety Appurtenances" (JTJ 074).
The technical requirements for test instruments and secondary meters shall meet the requirements of "Road Vehicle-Measurement Technology for Impact Test-Test Instrument" (ISO 6487) and (SAE J211).
The measurement of the height of the vehicle gravitational center shall meet the requirements of "Motor vehicles-Height of gravity center-Measuring method" (GB/T 12583) or measuring date records provided by the vehicle manufacturers.
The occupant protection shall refer to "Design Rules for Occupant Protection in Real Vehicle Frontal Impact" (CMVDR 294).
