This Standard specifies terms and definitions, classification and designation, characteristics, structure and performance requirements, test methods, inspection rules as well as marking, packaging, transportation and storage for mining explosion-proof low voltage alternating vacuum electromagnetic starter (hereinafter referred to as starter).
This Standard is applicable to direct or remote control on starting, stopping, reverse and variable speed for three-phase squirrel cage asynchronous motor in the circuit with rated frequency of 50Hz and voltage up to 1140V (1200V) or below under coal mine as well as starters for protecting motors and relevant circuits.
Provisions related to overload protection in this Standard are not applicable to embedded overheat protector installed inside the motor.
