1 Basic Requirements
The purpose of this part is uniform all rules and requirements for the basic properties of low-voltage switchgear and controlgear as much as possible to achieve conformity of the properties and tests of equipment within the corresponding range and avoid tests conducted according to different standards.
This part contain contents in various product standards which are regarded as basic requirements and specific items with extensive significance and use, such as temperature rise, dielectric property, etc..
Only two main standards are required to determine all requirements and test of various low-voltage switchgears and controlgears:
1) This basic standard which is hereinafter referred to as GB 14048.1 in various low-voltage switchgear and controlgear standards;
2) Relevant product standard which is referred to as "relevant product standard" or "product standard" thereinafter.
The basic requirements applicable to certain specific product standard shall be defined and indicated with articles of GB 14048.1; for example, 7.2.3 in GB 14048.1.
Basic requirements may not be specified for certain product standard, therefore, the contents of this item may be omitted (if not applicable) or some contents may be added (if the basic requirements are not applicable to some circumstances). Unless sufficient technical reasons are provided, the product standard shall not go against the general rules.
