The fuel handling and storage system consists of fresh fuel storage system, fuel handling system, spent fuel storage system, etc. 3.2 Fuel failure A generic term for phenomena, such as damage on fuel cladding, deformation or rupture of grid spacer, fuel rod and end assembly, or overall envelope dimension of fuel assembly unsuitable for in-reactor handling. 3.3 Fuel storage building A building used for receiving, inspecting and storing fresh fuel, or storing and handling spent fuel.
