Down and feather quilts
1 Scope
This document specifies the requirements for down and feather quilts, describes corresponding test methods, and specifies inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage.
This document is applicable to the design, production, inspection and sale of down quilts, feather quilts, composite down quilts and composite feather quilt products.
This document is not applicable to the design, production, inspection and sale of quilt products filled with a mixture of down and feather and other fillers.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 17685 and the following apply.
3.1
down quilts
quilt product with down of the same specification as the only filler
3.2
feather quilts
quilt product with feather of the same specification as the only filler
3.3
composite down quilts
quilt product which meets all the following requirements:
a) made of two or more kinds of down feathers of different specifications or down feathers mixed with other filling materials in layers or partitions; b) the mass percentage of down part is not less than 50%
3.4
composite feather quilts
quilt product which meets all the following requirements:
a) made of two or more kinds of down feathers of different specifications or down feathers mixed with other filling materials in layers or partitions; b) the mass percentage of the feather part is not less than 50%.
3.5
outer shell
outer jacketed textile used to directly or indirectly wrap and retain fillers
3.6
interior lining
fabric inside the outer shell (3.5) for retaining and wrapping the fillers and performing as an anti-drilling function
3.7
mass percentage of down and feather
percentage of down and feather fillers in composite quilts (3.3) or composite feather quilts (3.4) as a percentage of total fillers mass
4 Requirements
4.1 Technical requirements for basic safety
Outer shell and interior lining shall meet the requirements specified in GB 18401 and GB 31701.
4.2 Inherent quality
4.2.1 Fillers
Fillers shall meet the requirements specified in Table 1.
