Household and similar electrical vacuum cleaners
1 Scope
This document specifies the safety and performance requirements for household and similar use vacuum cleaners, describes the corresponding test methods, specifies the inspection rules, labeling, packaging, transportation, and storage content, and provides product classification and model naming for technical regulations.
This document is applicable to the production, inspection, and sale of electrically dry vacuum cleaners (hereinafter referred to as "vacuum cleaners") used in homes and similar occasions.
Some test methods for the following products may be implemented with reference to this document:
——Car vacuum cleaner;
——Vacuum cleaners specially used for cleaning clothes and other special purposes.
This document is not applicable to:
——Wet vacuum cleaner;
——Wet function of wet and dry vacuum cleaner;
——Floor/ carpet cleaning machine;
——Scrubber;
——Floor polisher with dust collector;
——Industrial vacuum cleaners;
——Cleaning robot.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 38048.2-2021 and the following apply.
3.1
canister (cylinder) vacuum cleaner
vacuum cleaner of which the cleaning head and the main body are connected by a hose, the cleaning head is controlled by the user via the handle attached to the cleaner hose to treat the surface under cleaning, and the main body may be dragged forward
Note 1: For this type of vacuum cleaner, the dust collector is generally located in the main body of the vacuum cleaner.
Note 2: In addition to the above features, the dust collector has a capacity of more than 2.5 L and looks like a cylinder, which is generally called a cylinder vacuum cleaner.

3.2
hand-held vacuum cleaner
portable vacuum cleaner that is a device in which the cleaning head is connected to the main body of the vacuum cleaner through piping, and may be a single or separate structure, and the main body of the appliance needs to be held by the user's hand during normal operation
Note: In hand-held vacuum cleaner, the cleaning head and the main body of the vacuum cleaner are connected by a hard pipe, which is generally a stick vacuum cleaner.

stick vacuum cleaner
vacuum cleaner that is connected to the cleaning head and the main body of the vacuum cleaner through a hard pipe, and is supported by the cleaned surface and the user's hand during operation Note: In the non-running (including charging) state, some appliances may stand on their own in the horizontal plane.

radius of operation
longest distance from the end face of the power plug by the vacuum cleaner to the front edge of the cleaning head
Note: It is only applicable to wired vacuum cleaners.
3.5
max suction power
P2max
max output power of vacuum cleaner, which is calculated according to the air volume (q) and vacuum degree (h) measured under specific throttling conditions
3.6
max efficiency
max value of the ratio between the suction power (P) measured under specified throttling conditions and the corresponding input power (P) when the vacuum cleaner is running in an unloaded state
3.7
cordless vacuum cleaner
vacuum cleaner that is only powered by battery power during running

3.8
fully charged
state in which the vacuum cleaner is charged according to the instructions for use or the manufacturer's instructions, and the charging process is completed
Note: The state at the completion of the charging process is generally determined by the charging indicator or charging continues for a specified time.

fully discharged
state in which the vacuum cleaner runs until the power is depleted or the vacuum motor cannot rotate normally (whichever occurs first) according to the instructions for use or the manufacturer's instructions

3.10
standard operation mode
operating mode of the vacuum cleaner set to standard gear according to the instructions or manufacturer's instructions. If there is no relevant instruction, use the power-on default gear of the appliance
3.11
maximum operating mode
operating mode in which the vacuum cleaner is set to the highest power state according to the instructions for use or as specified by the manufacturer. If there is no relevant instruction, use the maximum power gear of the appliance and turn on all additional functions that can be turned on simultaneously and generate energy consumption
4 Product classification and model designation
4.1 Classification
4.1.1 Classification according to structure:
——Upright vacuum cleaner;
——Canister (cylinder) vacuum cleaner;
——Hand-held vacuum cleaner;
——Stick vacuum cleaner.
4.1.2 Classification according to nature of power supply:
——AC vacuum cleaner;
———DC vacuum cleaner;
——AC/DC dual-purpose vacuum cleaner.
4.1.3 Classification according to dust collection methods:
——Bagged vacuum cleaner;
——Bagless vacuum cleaner.
4.1.4 Classification according to power supply method:
——Corded vacuum cleaner;
——Cordless vacuum cleaner.

1 Scope
This document specifies the safety and performance requirements for household and similar use vacuum cleaners, describes the corresponding test methods, specifies the inspection rules, labeling, packaging, transportation, and storage content, and provides product classification and model naming for technical regulations.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 38048.2-2021 and the following apply.

canister (cylinder) vacuum cleaner
vacuum cleaner of which the cleaning head and the main body are connected by a hose, the cleaning head is controlled by the user via the handle attached to the cleaner hose to treat the surface under cleaning, and the main body may be dragged forward
Note 1: For this type of vacuum cleaner, the dust collector is generally located in the main body of the vacuum cleaner.
Note 2: In addition to the above features, the dust collector has a capacity of more than 2.5 L and looks like a cylinder, which is generally called a cylinder vacuum cleaner.

hand-held vacuum cleaner
