1 Scope
This standard specifies the purpose, conditions, technical requirements (including those for safety), procedures and result evaluation of sinusoidal and random vibration tests of solid rocket motors [hereinafter referred to as “motor(s)”].
This standard is applicable to vibration test on motors for strategic and tactical missiles and aerospace carriers, as well as vibration test on motor components and their structural models.
2 Normative references
The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this standard, constitute provisions of this standard. For dated references, subsequent amendments (excluding corrections), or revisions, of any of these publications do not apply to this standard. However, parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document referred to applies.

3 Test purpose
The purpose of vibration test for motors is as follows:
a) Assessment of the adaptability of motors to vibration environment, and provision of test basis for final evaluation of its structural integrity, performance stability and working reliability;
b) Acquisition of the dynamic response features of relevant parts of the motors to provide a basis for verifying the correctness of the mathematical analysis model.
