1 Scope
This specification specifies the scope, materials, detailing, construction and project quality requirements of fire protection for steel structures of buildings (constructions) in petrochemical production areas.
This specification is applicable to the design, construction and acceptance of fire protection for steel structures of buildings (constructions) of constructed, renovated or extended projects in petrochemical production areas.

3 Fundamental requirements of fireproofing design
3.1 The steel structures of constructions meeting the following requirements in the petrochemical production areas shall be subjected to fireproofing design:
a) Load-bearing steel frames and steel supports of the equipment for Classes A and BA liquids with an individual volume equal to or greater than 5m3;
b) Load-bearing steel frames and steel supports of the equipment for the treatment, storage or transportation of extremely hazardous and highly hazardous toxic media in the explosion hazardous area;
c) Load-bearing steel frames and steel supports of the equipment for Classes BB and C liquids with an operating temperature equal to or higher than the spontaneous ignition point and an individual volume equal to or greater than 5m3;
d) Steel pipe racks of the main pipe gallery of device in the explosion hazardous area;
e) Load-bearing steel frames and steel supports for non-combustible medium equipment with a height-diameter ratio equal to or greater than 8 and a total mass equal to or greater than 25t in the explosion hazardous area.
3.2 The steel structures of buildings meeting the following requirements in the petrochemical production areas shall be subjected to fireproofing design:
a) Factory buildings with the fire hazard classification of production conforming to those specified in Annex A;
b) Warehouses with the fire hazard classification of the goods stored in them conforming to those specified in Annex B.
