1 Scope
This specification specifies the testing methods for electrostatic protection in electronic production manufacturing and using system.
This specification is applicable to the detection for electrostatic protection in electronic production manufacturing and using system, such as: grounding system, ground (mat), wall, workbench, bench mat, work chair, workstation appliance, logistics transfer appliance, packaging supplies, human body electrostatic protection equipment, operation and maintenance tools, ion electrostatic eliminator, etc.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this specification, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
resistance of grounding system
sum of the resistance between test surface and ground point of the object under test
3.2
testing point
selected point to place the test electrode (or stylus) during the test
3.3
electrostatic potential
standard function of an electrostatic field whose gradient is prefixed with a minus sign equal to the field intensity. The electrostatic potential at a point in electrostatic field is equal to the power required to move the unit positive charge from that point to infinity, and it is also equal to the potential energy of the unit positive charge at that point
3.4
surface resistivity
ratio of the intensity of direct current field along the surface current direction of sample to the surface conduction current per unit length
3.5
volume resistivity
ratio of the intensity of direct current field along the current direction of sample volume to the current density
3.6
electrostatic discharge
the phenomenon that partial or complete disappearance of charge on a charged body due to ionization of dielectric when the field strength around the charged body exceeds the dielectric breakdown field strength
3.7
electrostatic charge
one of the inherent properties of certain elementary particles, such as protons and electrons, that make up physical matter. Electric charges are divided into positive and negative charges
3.8
ground
object that can supply or accept large amounts of electric charges, such as earth, the hull of a ship, or a vehicle
3.9
hard ground
direct ground
a grounding mode in which a direct conductive connection is made to a grounding pole
3.10
soft ground
a grounding method in which a set of resistors is connected to a grounding pole by limiting the current flowing through the human body to a safe value
3.11
voltage to earth
potential difference between a charged body and the ground
3.12
static decay time
the time required for the given percentage when the voltage of charged body decays to its initial value
3.13
static shielding material
material that prevents electrostatic discharge or electrostatic field from passing through or penetrating
3.14
electrostatic conductive material
materials with the following properties:
surface conductive: materials with surface resistivity less than 1×105 Ω/□ or materials with surface resistance less than 1×106 Ω
volume conductive: material with volume resistivity less than 1×104 Ω·cm, material with volume resistance less than 1×106 Ω
3.15
electrostatic dissipative material
materials with the following properties:
surface conductive: materials with surface resistivity greater than or equal to 1×105 Ω/□ but less than 1×1012 Ω/□; or materials whose surface resistance is greater than or equal to 1×106 Ω but less than 1×109 Ω.
volume conductive: material with volume resistivity greater than or equal to 1×104 Ω·cm but less than 1×1011 Ω·cm; or materials whose volume resistance is greater than or equal to 1×106 Ω but less than 1×109 Ω.

electrostatic leakage
the phenomenon that the electrostatic charge on electrified body disappeared partially or completely through the interior or surface of charged body
