1 Scope
1.1 Subject Contents
This Code specifies the classification and designation, technical requirements, test methods, quality assessment procedures as well as marking, packaging, storage and transportation of electrostatic protection covers (hereinafter referred to as “the covers”).
This Code is applicable to PVC thermoplastic and melamine thermosetting electrostatic protection covers, while other electrostatic protection covers may refer to this Code.
2 Normative References
The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this Code. At time of publication, the editions indicated were valid. All standards are subject to revision, and the parties coming to an agreement based on this Code are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the standards below.

3 Classification and Designation
3.1 Classification
By duration of anti-static property, electrostatic protection covers are classified into permanent electrostatic protection covers and common electrostatic protection covers; by materials, they are classified into PVC thermoplastic electrostatic protection covers and melamine thermosetting electrostatic protection covers; by resistance value, they are classified into conductive electrostatic protection covers and dissipative electrostatic protection covers.
3.1.1 Permanent electrostatic protection covers
Duration of anti-static property is the same as the service period of the covers; the anti-static property remains the same within the duration.
3.1.2 Common electrostatic protection covers
Duration of anti-static property is less than the service period of the covers; the anti-static property may change within the duration.
3.1.3 PVC thermoplastic electrostatic protection covers
Polyvinyl chloride resin, plasticizer, filler, stabilizer, coupling agent and conducting materials (such as metal, carbon and conductive fiber etc.) are mixed and enabled of anti-static property by physical method, which belong to permanent electrostatic protection covers.
3.1.4 Melamine thermosetting electrostatic protection covers
They are formed under high pressure and high temperature after being added with melamine resin and phenolic resin of anti-static materials by paper impregnation, and they may be classified into common and permanent electrostatic protection covers according to different addition materials.
3.1.5 Conductive electrostatic protection covers
Conductive electrostatic protection covers are represented by a resistance of less than 106Ω.
3.1.6 Dissipative electrostatic protection covers
Dissipative electrostatic protection covers are represented by a resistance of 1×106Ω~1×109Ω.
3.2 Model designation
Classification and codes of electrostatic protection covers are detailed in Table 1.
