1 Scope
This standard specifies the codes, working conditions, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, acceptance rules, packaging and marking etc. of section insulator.
It is applicable to section insulator at same-phase electric subsection of 25kV single-phase power-frequency a.c. overhead contact system of electric railways.

3 Definitions
This standard adopts the following definitions:
slideway type section insulator: it refers to the section insulator of which all or part insulating elements are adopted as of slideway simultaneously and which directly contacts with pantograph of electric locomotive during operation
non-slideway type section insulator: it refers to the section insulator of which insulating elements are not adopted as slideway and which does not contact with pantograph of electric locomotive during operation
