1 Scope
This standard specifies the test terms and definitions, basic requirements, test methods, test results determination principles and data processing for fittings for overhead contact systems in electrification railway (including tunnel fittings, hereinafter referred to as fittings).
This standard applies to all types of electrified railway overhead contact system fittings, and also to other fittings with the same purpose.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this Standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
failing load test
the test that measures the maximum breaking load value of the fittings by using the tensile (compression) test equipment to simulate the actual force state of the fittings under the specified test conditions,
3.2
tensile(compression) load test
the test that checks whether the fittings have plastic deformation, slippage, damage, etc. by using the tensile (compression) test equipment to simulate the actual force state of the fittings under the specified tensile (compression) working load.
3.3
working load test
the test that check whether the fittings are subjected to plastic deformation, breakage, etc. under specified load by use the tensile (compression) test equipment to simulate the actual stress state of the fittings under the specified test conditions.
3.4
tightening torque test
the test that checks whether the bolts and fittings have plastic deformation, skew, breakage, seizure, etc. under the specified test conditions by using a torque measuring instrument to slowly apply a tightening torque to the bolts or nuts on the fittings
3.5
sliding load test
the test that measures the fitting’s maximum load value when the fitting is subjected to the axial load of the connecting assembly and with a specified relative displacement between fittings and wire or between fittings themselves under specified test conditions
3.6
vibration test
the test that checks the relevant mechanical properties, deformation, damage and looseness of the fittings by installing fittings on the overhead contact system simulation test device to simulate vibration under the specified test conditions.
3.7
fatigue test
The test that checks the relevant mechanical properties, deformation and damage of the fittings under alternating loads by installing them on the overhead contact system fatigue test device to simulate fatigue under the specified test conditions.
3.8
transmission efficiency test
The test that measures the dynamic mechanical transmission efficiency of the overhead contact system tension compensation device by installing the fittings the test device to simulate their actual stress state under the specified test conditions.
3.9
contact resistance test
the test that measures the DC resistance value between the specified measuring points (at the electrical connection of the fittings) by connecting and tightening the fittings and the matching wires (according to the specified connection method) under the specified test conditions.
3.10
temperature-rise test
the test that checks the heat state of the fittings and their connecting wires under the specified time and test current by fastening and connecting the fittings with the matching wires (according to the specified method) under the specified test conditions.
3.11
electrical thermal cycle test
the test that applies on the electrical connection of the fittings a thermal cycling through energization and power-off cooling and short-circuit current to check whether the resistance value and temperature rise of the fittings and their connecting wires exceed the standard specified values under the specified test conditions.
3.12
electrical thermal test cycle
the whole process from the electrical connection fittings reaches the thermally stable state after it's power-on until it’s power-off and cooled below 30 °C is a thermal test cycle.
3.13
uniformity of galvanized coating test
the test to check whether the core of the fitting is exposed within the specified time and the number of times of immersion by immersing the fittings in a cupric sulfate solution.
3.14
coating thickness test
the test to measure the thickness of the metal coating of a fitting.
3.15
assembly inspections
the inspections that check the completeness of fittings, the unity of sets, the interchangeability of fitting pieces and the flexibility of disassembly and installation.
3.16
suspension system test
the composite test that simulates the actual stress state of the on-site suspension for multi-directional loading.
3.17
cantilever system test
the composite test that simulates the actual stress state of the on-site cantilever system for multi-directional loading.

3 Terms and definitions
