The Standard specifieds the requirements such as the test methods, inspection rules, package and storage of multicore and symmetrical pair/quad cables for digital communicationshorizontal floor wiring-solid polyolefin insulate. This Standard also specifies the corresponding requirements multicore and symmetrical pair/quad cables for fluoronated ethylene-propylene (FEP) insulate.
This Standard is applicable to the manufacturing, acceptance and application of multicore and symmetrical pair/quad cables for digital communicationshorizontal floor wiring-solid polyolefin and fluoronated ethylene-propylene (FEP) insulate. The foam and foam skin, the horizontal floor polyolefin insulation cables can also refer to the relevant clauses of this standard for adoption.
The cables specified in this Standard are applied in the wiring between the communication outlet terminal and the distribution frame of the junction, in the work area in the integrated wiring system of the building communications as well as the wiring between the user communication outlet terminal to the distribution frame, of the integrated wiring system in the residential buildings.
The 100 Ω cables in the standard can be classified into several categories according to the maximum transmission frequency:
Category 3 cables: 16 MHz
Category 4 cables: 20 MHz
Category 5 cables: 100 MHz
Category 5e cables: 100 MHz and support and duplex application
Category 6 cables: 250 MHz
150 Ω cables shall not be classified in this standard but the maximum transmission frequency of the cables is 300 MHz.
