SDH-based MSTP network management technical specification -Part 2: NMS function
1 Scope
This part specifies the functional requirements of the SDH-based MSTP NMS, mainly including topology management, configuration management, path management, protection management, fault management and performance management.
This part is applicable to the SDH-based MSTP NMS.
2 Normative references
The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this part. For dated references, subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) to, or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. 3 Terms, definitions and abbreviations
3.1 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this part, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1.1 SDH-based multi-service transport platform
SDH-based multi-service platform which realizes access, processing and transport of multiple services such as TDM, ATM and Ethernet simultaneously, and provides uniform network management
3.1.2 network management system
SDH transport NMS, namely, a software and hardware system used to manage the SDH transport network, which provides an end-to-end network view of the whole network, and is able to manage SDH NEs or SDH subnetworks provided by different device suppliers in the network
3.1.3 element management system
SDH transport EMS, namely, a software and hardware system used to manage one or more SDH NEs, which manages SDH NEs or SDH subnetworks provided by a single-device supplier
Note: The EMS given in this part refers to the EMS and SNMS collectively in the traditional sense.
