3 Terms, definitions and abbreviations
3.1 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this part, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1.1
Network Management System
NMS of SDH transport network, that is, a software and hardware system used to manage the SDH transport network, which provides an end-to-end network view of the whole network, and is able to manage SDH NEs or SDH subnetworks provided by different device suppliers in the network
3.1.2
Element Management System
EMS of SDH transport network, that is, a software and hardware system used to manage one or more SDH NE(s), which manages SDH NEs or SDH subnetworks provided by a single device supplier
Note: The EMS given in this part refers to the EMS and SNMS collectively in the traditional sense.
3.2 Abbreviations
For the purposes of this part, the following abbreviations apply.
CORBA Common Object Request Broker Architecture
CTP Connection Termination Point
NMS Network Management System
TP Termination Point
ATM Asynchronous Transport Mode
CBR Constant Bit Rate
CBS Committed Burst Size
CIR Committed Information Rate
CoS Class of Service
CM Color Mode

SC State Change notification
AVC Attribute Value Change notification
Best-effort Best-effort, if multiple actions are required in the parameter, perform them if some of them will succeed
4 Interface specification
4.1 SDH common information model
The SDH common management interface shall meet those specified in Technical specification for SDH transport network management - Part 6: EMS-NMS interface information model based on IDL/IIOP.
4.2 Description of termination point
MSTP termination point, the termination points include ATM termination point, Ethernet termination point and data structures (not defined separately), the definition of terminationPoint::TerminationPoint in Technical specification for SDH transport network management - Part 6: EMS-NMS interface information model based on IDL/IIOP is used. The characteristics of MSTP termination point will be further described in this part.
To support the unique parameters of MSTP termination points, it is necessary to add a definition in the transmissionParams of TerminationPoint. For example: {layered=“LR_Fragment”, name=“lcasEnable”, value=“true”/“false”}, the setting of LCAS enabling is achieved through a universal interface for modifying parameters at termination point.
layerRate Name Value Notification Remarks
LR_Fragment lcasEnable true
false SC LCAS enable
