1 Scope
This standard specifies terms and definitions, requirements and test methods for the barrier-free low floor and low entry city bus.
This standard is applicable to the barrier-free low floor and low entry single-deck, double-deck and articulated type city bus of Grade A, Grade I and Grade II in M3 vehicles with the length more than 8m.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1 Passenger with reduced mobility
It refers to the passenger with special difficult to ride in public transport vehicles.
3.2 Barrier-free city bus
It refers to the city bus setting barrier-free facilities for passenger with reduced mobility.
3.3 Boarding device
It refers to the device convenient for the wheel chair in and out of vehicles, such as lift device, ramp etc.
3.4 Kneeling system
It refers to the device which can make parts or all of the vehicle body fall or rise with respect to the normal position while running.
3.5 Ramp
It refers to the device bridging between the ground (or road shoulder) and the passenger zone floor.
4 Requirements
4.1 Limits of dimensions, axle load and masses
4.1.1 Limits of dimensions, axle load and masses for city bus shall meet the requirements of GB 1589.
4.1.2 The axle-load mass and loading mass for bus shall meet the requirements of GB 7258.
4.2 Vehicle performance
4.2.1 Static stable roll angle
a) No less than 35° for single-deck and articulated city bus (no load).
b) No less than 28° for double-deck city bus (no load).
4.2.2 Trafficability characteristic
a) The approach angle, departure angle, longitudinal passing radius and minimum turning diameter shall meet the requirements of GB/T 19260.
b) The minimum ground clearance is not less than 140 mm.
4.2.3 Other vehicle performance
4.2.3.1 The bus emittions shall be in accordance with the requirements of national standard and related regulations, the noise emitted by vehicles shall meet the requirements of GB 1495, and the vehicle braking shall be in accordance with the requirements of GB 7258.
4.2.3.2 See Table 1 for other vehicle performance requirements for buses.
