1 Scope
This standard specifies the service conditions, basic performances and test items of potential source static exciter systems for large turbine generators and provides the technical document for customer use as well as the mark, package, transportation, storage and guarantee period on the equipment.
This standard is applicable to the potential source static exciter systems for turbine generators in 200MW and above. And for the potential source static exciter systems for turbine generators in less than 200 MW, it shall be implemented as a reference.

3 Service Conditions
3.1 Operating ambient
3.1.1 The sea level elevation shall not exceed 1000m.
3.1.2 The maximum ambient temperature shall be 40℃.
3.1.3 The minimum ambient temperature for direct water cooling rectifier shall be 5 ℃ and for the other types of cooling equipments , it shall be-5℃.
3.1.4 The mean monthly maximum relative humidity of the most humid month shall be 90 % and the mean monthly minimum temperature of this month shall not be higher than 25℃.
3.1.5 The air around installation site shall be clean and dry and shall be free from explosion hazard and gas which may corrode metal or destroy the insulation. The installation site of excitation regulating equipment and rectifier shall take measures to prevent dust and to ventilate.
3.1.6 When the vibration frequency is 10 Hz~150 Hz, the oscillating acceleration shall not be greater than 5 m/s2.
3.2 Working power supply conditions
The allowable deviation of alternating voltage shall be-15%~+10% of the rated value and the allowable deviation of frequency shall be -6 %~+4 % of the rated value.
The DC voltage allowable deviation shall be -20 %~+10 % of the rated value.
3.3 When the operating environment conditions fail to meet the requirements as stated above, the relevant parameters shall be corrected according to the corresponding standard requirements of each part; under special circumstances, it shall be arranged by the demander and supplier.
