1 Scope

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.

4 Classification and model
4.1 Classification
4.1.1 The heptafluoropropane foam fire extinguishing system may be classified by the type of foam proportioning device into:
a) balanced type, with code of P;
b) metering injection type, with code of J;
c) pressure type, with code of Y;
d) mechanical pumping type, with code of B;
e) other types, with code of Q.
4.1.2 The heptafluoropropane foam fire extinguishing system may be classified by heptafluoropropane storage type into:
a) external stored pressure type, with code of W;
b) internal stored pressure type, not marked.
4.2 Model
4.2.1 System model
The system shall be modeled following the following requirements:

PQF-WP/200/6/1.6 refers to external stored pressure heptafluoropropane foam fire extinguishing system with a maximum working pressure of 1.6 MPa, a foam concentration of 6%, a maximum flow of 200 L/s and a balanced foam proportioning device.

5 Technical requirements
5.1 System
5.1.1 Main performance parameters
See Table 1 for the main performance parameters of heptafluoropropane foam fire extinguishing system (hereinafter referred to as system).

5.1.2 System composition
5.1.2.1 The system shall at least consist of foam concentrate storage tank, foam proportioning device, heptafluoropropane feeding device, heptafluoropropane proportioning device, heptafluoropropane foam maker, control cabinet, valve, pipeline, etc.
5.1.2.2 All components of the system shall be firmly fixed, reliably connected, installed at the correct position, reasonably arranged in an integrated way, and convenient for operation, inspection and maintenance.
5.1.3 Appearance
All components of the system shall be free from any obvious processing defects or mechanical damages, and their external surfaces shall be subject to anti-corrosion treatment, and the anti-corrosion coating and plating shall be complete and even.
5.1.4 Marking
5.1.4.1 The name and filling pressure of the gas shall be marked on the front surface of the gas cylinder group, and the handwriting shall be clear and legible.
5.1.4.2 Each manually operated part of the system shall be marked with the operation method via texts and graphic symbols, and the proportioning device, check valve, etc. shall be marked with the medium flow direction.
5.1.4.3 The system shall be provided with permanent signs at conspicuous position, with the content at least covering product name, model and specification, number of standard executed, type of applicable foam concentrate, service temperature range, working pressure range of system, flow range of system, storage pressure of heptafluoropropane storage device, manufacturer, product number, date of manufacture, etc.
The signs shall remain legible after being subjected to the salt spray corrosion test according to 6.11.
5.1.5 Start-up operation requirements
5.1.5.1 Start method
The system shall be provided with automatic start, manual start and mechanical emergency start functions. For manual start and mechanical emergency start, effective measures shall be taken to prevent misoperation.
5.1.5.2 Delayed start function
The automatic start of the system shall be provided with delayed start function. The delay time may be continuously adjustable from 0s to 30s; if step adjustment is adopted, the interval shall not be more than 10s. The delay time measurement error shall not be more than 20% of the set time.
5.1.5.3 Start-up operation
The system shall be started in different ways, and its action shall be accurate, reliable and fault-free.
5.1.6 Fire extinguishing requirements
Systems using alcohol-resistant foam concentrate shall be subjected to the test for extinguishing propylene oxide and n-pentane oil pan fire; systems using other types of foam concentrates shall be subjected to the test for extinguishing n-pentane oil pan fire. The fire extinguishing test shall be performed in accordance with 6.12, and the results shall meet the following requirements:
a) the sprayed foam layer shall completely cover the fuel surface;
b) the flame shall be completely extinguished by the end of the spray of the fire-extinguishing foam;
c) after the fire is extinguished, the fuel covered by foam shall be free from reignition, burning or flashover;
d) after the fire is extinguished, there shall be remaining fuel in the oil pan.
5.2 Foam extinguishing agent and heptafluoropropane extinguishing agent
The foam extinguishing agent shall meet the requirements of GB 15308 and the heptafluoropropane extinguishing agent shall meet the requirements of GB 18614.
5.3 Foam proportioning device and foam concentrate storage tank
5.3.1 Foam proportioning device
The foam proportioning device shall meet the requirements in 5.1 of GB 20031-2005.
5.3.2 Foam concentrate storage tank
The foam concentrate storage tank shall meet the requirements in 5.1.2.3 or 5.3.7 of GB 20031-2005.
5.4 Heptafluoropropane proportioning device
5.4.1 Marking
Permanent signs shall be provided at a prominent position on the enclosure of the heptafluoropropane proportioning device, with the flow direction of medium indicated by arrows. The sign shall at least indicate the following information: product name, specification and model, product number, working pressure range, flow range, heptafluoropropane concentration, executive standard, name or trademark of the manufacturer, etc.
The signs shall remain legible after being subjected to the salt spray corrosion test according to 6.11.
5.4.2 Materials
Parts and components that are in direct contact with the mixture of heptafluoropropane and foam shall be made of materials with a corrosion resistance not inferior to that of copper alloys.
5.4.3 Main performance parameters
The main performance parameters of heptafluoropropane proportioning device shall meet the requirements in Table 2.

5.4.4 Strength and sealing
5.4.4.1 Strength
Carry out the strength test according to 6.2, during which the test pressure shall be 1.5 times the maximum working pressure and maintained for 5 min. After the test, there shall be no leakage, structural damage, permanent deformation or rupture of any component of the heptafluoropropane proportioning device.
5.4.4.2 Sealing
Carry out the seal test according to 6.3, during which the test pressure shall be 1.1 times the maximum working pressure and maintained for 5 min. After the test, there shall be no leakage, deformation or damage of any component of the heptafluoropropane proportioning device.
