1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules of calcium carbide as well as marking, package, transport, storage and safety.
This standard is applicable to the calcium carbide chemically combined by carbon materials and quick lime in electric arc furnace. This product is mainly used to generate acetylene, produce lime nitrogen and desulfurization agent of iron and steel.
Molecular formula: CaC2
Structural formula:
Relative molecular mass: 64.10 (according to international relative atomic mass in 2001)
