GB 146 consists of two parts under the general title Gauge for standard gauge railways:
——Part 1: Rolling stock gauge.
——Part 2: Structure gauge.
This is Part 2 of GB 146.
This part is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This part replaces GB 146.2-1983 Structure gauge for standard gauge railways, and in addition to editorial changes, the following main technical changes have been made with respect to GB 146.2-1983:
——The name of structure gauge for railways is changed to structure gauge for mixed passenger and freight railway with ν≤160km/h (see Clause 4; Clause 4 of Edition 1983);
——The height of the platform gauges in the basic structure gauge is modified (see Clause 4; 4.1.1 of Edition 1983);
——For tunnel structure gauge-1 and tunnel structure gauge -2, the constructed tunnel lower outline is added at the lower gauge of 25mm~1,210mm above the rail surface (see 4.2.1 and 4.2.2; 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 of Edition 1983);
——The tunnel structure gauge-1B, tunnel structure gauge 02B, bridge structure gauge -1B and bridge structure gauge -2B are deleted (see 4.2.1, 4.2.2, 4.3.1 and 4.3.2 of Edition 1983);
——The structure gauge for mixed passenger and freight railway with ν>160km/h is added (see Clause 5);
——The structure gauge for passenger dedicated railway is added (see Clause 6);
——The reference drawing of pantograph position of electrified railway is deleted (see Annex A of Edition 1983);
——The reference drawing of loading gauge of out-of-gauge goods is deleted (see Annex B of Edition 1983).
This part is under the jurisdiction of the National Railway Administration of the People's Republic of China.
The previous editions of this part are as follows:
——GB 146-1959, GB 146.2-1983.
Gauge for standard gauge railways - Part 2: Structure gauge
1 Scope
This part of GB 146 specifies the basic structure gauge, tunnel structure gauge, bridge structure gauge as well as bridge and tunnel structure gauge of 1,435mm standard gauge railway lines.
This part is applicable to the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the following standard gauge railway lines:
——mixed passenger and freight railway with v≤160km/h;
——mixed passenger and freight railway with v>160km/h;
——passenger dedicated railway.
2 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
2.1
structure gauge
limit cross-sectional profile perpendicular to the centerline of the line, in which other equipment or structures shall not invade except for rolling stock and equipment interacting with rolling stock and related equipment (vehicle speed reducer, contact line, sling, positioner, etc.)
2.2
design speed
v
maximum running speed of the train designed for the line
Note: The design speed is expressed in km/h.
3 General
3.1 No matter whether new or old rails are used (including long-term replacement of heavy rails and thickening of ballast beds), the structure gauge dimension from the rail surface shall comply with the requirements.
3.2 The dimensions on the structure gauge drawings in this part are based on the lines on the horizontal straights.
3.3 The center distance of adjacent lines in the curve part and the expanded distance between the center line of the line and the structure shall be calculated using the specified curve widening equation.
3.4 In the curve part, due to the superelevation of the outer rail, the vertical height of the structure gauge shall be calculated from the straight line formed by the highest points of the inner and outer rails; the horizontal dimension shall be calculated from the center line of the line.
4 Structure gauge for mixed passenger and freight railway with v≤160km/h
4.1 Basic structure gauge
4.1.1 Structure gauge -1
4.1.1.1 The structure gauge -1 is the basic structure gauge for mixed passenger and freight railway with v≤160km/h, as shown in Figure 1.
