1 Scope
This standard specifies the devices for indirect vision, for vehicles of Categories M, N and of Category L vehicles less than 4 wheels with bodywork at least partly enclosing the driver.

For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
Devices for indirect vision
Devices used to observe the traffic area adjacent to the vehicle which cannot be observed by direct vision. These can be conventional mirrors, camera-monitors or other devices able to present information about the indirect field of vision to the driver.
3.2
View mirror
The device for indirect vision, excluding devices such as periscopes, intended to give a clear view to the rear and side of the vehicle within the fields of vision through the reflecting surface.
