3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
firestop material
material with the function of fire prevention and smoke prevention, which is used for sealing or filling through-holes, annular joints and building joints in buildings, structures and various facilities, is convenient for replacement and meets relevant performance requirements
3.2
firestop subassembly
subassembly composed of various firestop materials and fireproof heat insulation materials, which is used to maintain the fire resistance of the structure and is convenient to replace
3.3
moveable joint
joint with variable width or position due to deformation after heating
3.4
percent for cable penetration area
percent for pipe penetration area
percentage of the cross-sectional area of cable and pipe penetrations to the cross-sectional area of holes
4 Classification and labeling
4.1 Classification
4.1.1 Firestop material may be classified into three categories according to their uses: firestop material for holes, firestop material for joints and firestop material for plastic pipes.
a) The firestop material for holes is used for sealing and filling through-holes, which is indicated by code K.
b) The firestop material for joints is used for sealing and filling joints (such as expansion joints, settlement joints, seismic joints, structural joints, etc.) between fireproof partition members or between fireproof partition members and other members, such as fireproof sealant and joint filling material, which is indicated by code F.
c) The firestop material for plastic pipes is used for sealing and filling the place where plastic pipes pass through holes in walls or floors, which is indicated by code S.
