1 Scope This standard specifies the terms and definitions, safety requirements, test methods, maintenance, operation instructions and markings for petrol (diesel) engine-powered ride-on lawnmower under the direction control by an operator through a joystick or steering wheel (hereinafter named “ride-on lawnmower”). This standard is applicable to ride-on rotary lawnmowers, and may serve as a reference for relevant parts of ride-on lawnmowers driven by internal combustion engines with other fuels. This standard describes the measures to reduce or eliminate hazards during use. The list of major hazards involved in this standard is detailed in Annex A. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.
