Limit of harmful substances of interior floor coatings
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marks of package with respect to the allowable limits of harmful substances of interior floor coatings to human body and the environment.
Note: The interior refers to the interior of places with shelter at the top or at the top of and around them, such as industrial plants, underground parking lots, hospitals, schools and gymnasiums, which are relative to places without shelter at the top and around.
This standard is applicable to all kinds of interior floor coatings with organic polymer as the main adhesive, including primer, intermediate paint, finish paint and finish-coat paint, which are applied on the floor base surfaces of cement mortar, concrete, stone, plastic or steel and have decorative and protective effects on the floor as well as other special functions (e.g., antistatic, corrosion resistant, skid resistant, etc.).

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
volatile organic compounds (VOC)
any organic liquid and/or solid that may evaporate naturally at normal temperature and pressure of the atmospheric environment where it is present
[GB/T 5206-2015, Definition 2.270]
3.2
volatile organic compounds content
VOC content
mass of VOCs in coatings measured under prescribed conditions
[GB/T 5206-2015, Definition 2.271]
Note: VOC content in water-based floor coatings is expressed in grams per liter (g/L) after deducting water; VOC content in solvent-based and solvent-free floor coatings (deducting water content, if any) is expressed in grams per liter (g/L).
3.3
water-based floor coatings
floor coatings with water as main dispersion medium
3.4
solvent-based floor coatings
floor coatings with inactive organic solvents as main dispersion medium
3.5
solvent-free floor coatings
floor coatings that do not use volatile inactive organic solvents
4 Product classification
Interior floor coatings are classified into three categories, that is, water-based floor coatings, solvent-based floor coatings and solvent-free floor coatings.
5 Requirements
Limits of harmful substances in interior floor coatings shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 1.
