1 General
1.0.1 This national standard is stipulated to guarantee the constructional quality and functional uses of sprinkler systems (or referred to as "system" simply), reduce the fire harms and to protect the personnel and property safety.
1.0.2 This national standard applies the construction, commissioning and maintenance administration of sprinkler systems installed in industrial and civil buildings.
1.0.3 Besides the provisions of this national standard, the construction, commissioning and maintenance administration of sprinkler systems should meet the provisions of relevant current national standards and codes.
2 Terms
2.0.1 Condition of Standing by
Referred to as the condition that the performance and working conditions of sprinkler systems can meet relevant technical requirements and these systems can immediately act to extinguish fire.
2.0.2 System Components
Referred to as the generic name of products including sprinklers, alarm valve groups, pressure switches, water flow indicators, Fire Pumps and voltage stabilizers for the special use of sprinkler systems
2.0.3 Equipments for Supervisory and Alarm Control Services
Referred to as the equipments that can monitor the pressure, water level, current and the open-closed status of valves of sprinkler systems and can send out control signal and alarm
2.0.4 Pressure Maintenance Pumps
Referred to as a sort of special water pumps that can make the pressure of sprinkler systems within the design pressure ranges under the Condition of Standing by
2.0.5 Sprinkler Guards and Shields
Referred to as a sort of special covers that can protect the sprinklers from mechanical injuries in service, without affecting the action and the extinguishment characteristics of the sprinklers
2.0.6 End Water-test Equipments
Referred to as equipments installed among the pipe networks of the systems or in sub-areas to check such functions of systems as start-up, alarm and tandem drive.
2.0.7 Fire Pumps
Referred to as the special Fire Pumps or the common water pumps that can meet the provisions under the national standard GB 6245 - Performance requirements and test methods for fire pumps
3 General Provisions
3.1 Quality Control
3.1.1 The division of sectional works and sub-divisional works of sprinkler systems should conform to the provisions of this Appendix A.
3.1.2 The construction of sprinkler systems should be undertaken by the construction teams with corresponding qualifications.
3.1.3 The system construction should have construction scheme(s) according to the engineering requirements. On the construction sites, there should be necessary construction technical standards, sound constructional quality control systems and constructional quality verification systems, as well as relevant records conforming to the requirements of this Appendix B.
3.1.4 Before the construction of sprinkler systems, the following conditions should be available:
1. Such drawings as plan sketches, system diagrams (schematic diagrams of deployment systems) and construction drawings and such technical documents as instruction books, equipment lists and material lists should be complete;
2. The design units should disclose relevant technologies to the construction units and the supervision units;
3. System Components, pipe fittings as well as other equipments and materials should guarantee the normal construction;
4. Water, power and air used on the construction sites and during construction should satisfy the construction requirements and guarantee the serial construction.
3.1.5 The construction of sprinkler systems should be in accordance with the approved engineering design documents and the construction technical standards.
3.1.6 The quality control during the construction course of sprinkler systems should follow the following procedures:
1. The quality control of all procedures should conform to the construction technical standards, and each completed procedure should be inspected and the next procedure can not proceed until the former one is inspected qualified;
2. Between relevant different categories of works, the inspection should be handed over and the next procedure can only proceed with the approval of the supervising engineer(s);
3. After the installation completed, the construction units should debug in accordance with relevant debugging provisions;
4. After debugging, the construction units should submit quality control data and all kinds of quality inspection records made during the construction to the contractors;
5. The organization for the quality inspection during the construction should be composed of the supervising engineers and the personnel from the construction units in the charge of the former;
6. The records for the quality inspection in question should be filled in accordance with the requirements of this Appendix C.
3.1.7 The quality control data of sprinkler systems should be filled in accordance with the requirements of this Appendix D.
3.1.8 Before the construction of sprinkler systems, the System Components, pipe fittings and other equipments as well as materials should be inspected on site and those inspected disqualified can not be used.
3.1.9 The quality commissioning of sectional works should be carried out by the project directors of the contractors, along with the project directors and the supervising engineers of the construction units and the project directors of the design units under the organization of the contractors and the commissioning of sprinkler systems should be recorded according to the requirements of this Appendix E.

3.1.9 The quality commissioning of sectional works should be carried out by the project directors of the contractors, along with the project directors and the supervising engineers of the construction units and the project directors of the design units under the organization of the contractors and the commissioning of sprinkler systems should be recorded according to the requirements of this Appendix E.
