The previous edition of this document is as follows:
——GB/T 18970-2003.
Introduction
Feed additives refer to a small amount or trace substances added in the process of feed processing, production and use, including nutritional feed additives and general feed additives. For the convenience of application, GB 7300 Feed additives is divided into the following 13 categories:
——Amino acids, their salts and analogues;
——Vitamins, provitamins and chemically well-defined substances having similar effect;
——Minerals and their complexes (or chelates);
——Enzymes;
——Live microorganisms;
——Non-protein nitrogen;
——Antioxidant;
——Preservatives and acidity regulators;
——Coloring agents;
——Flavouring and appetising substances;
——Bonding agent, anti-caking additives, stabilizers, and emulsifiers;
——Polysaccharides and oligosaccharides;
——Others.
The product of this document, beta,beta-carotene-4,4-diketone (canthaxanthin), belongs to Category 9 coloring agents. As beta,beta-carotene-4,4-dione (cantharidine) is the second published product standard in this category, this document is designated GB 7300.902 as Part 902 of GB 7300.
