GB 9743-2024 Passenger car tyres 1 Scope This document specifies the requirements, judgment rules, and marking for passenger car tyres, as well as the requirements for the implementation of this standard; the relevant test methods are also included. This document is applicable to new pneumatic tyres for passenger cars. 2 Normative references The following documents contain requirements which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies. GB/T 521 Test methods for measuring peripheral dimensions of tyres GB/T 2978 Size designation, dimensions, inflation pressure and load capacity for passenger car tyres GB/T 4502 Laboratory test methods for passenger car tyres capabilities GB/T 6326 Tyre - Vocabulary GB/T 8170 Rules of rounding off for numerical values & expression and judgment of limiting values GB/T 21910 Method for measuring relative wet grip performance of passenger car tyres GB/T 29040 Test methods of rolling resistance for motor vehicle tyres - Single point test and correlation of measurement results GB/T 29042 Thresholds and grading of rolling resistance for motor vehicle tyres GB/T 30196 Self-supporting run flat tyres GB/T 39971 Thresholds and grading of relative wet grip index for motor vehicle tyres 3 Terms and definitions For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 6326, GB/T 4502 and GB/T 39971 apply. 4 Requirements 4.1 Main parameters of tyres The size, load index or ply rating, measuring rim, load-carrying capacity, inflation pressure, and permitted rim shall meet the requirements of GB/T 2978 or relevant technical documents of the industry. Note: The requirement “shall meet the requirements of relevant technical documents of the industry” is applicable to passenger car tyres with any parameter that differs from those in and is not covered by GB/T 2978. 4.2 Peripheral dimensions of new tyres The overall width and outer diameter of the tyre section shall meet the requirements of Annex A. 4.3 Corresponding relations between speed symbols and the maximum speed of tyres The corresponding relations between speed symbols and the maximum speed of tyres shall meet the requirements of Annex B. 4.4 Corresponding relations between tyre load index and tyre load-carrying capacity The corresponding relations between tyre load index and tyre load-carrying capacity shall meet the requirements of Annex C. 4.5 Safety performance 4.5.1 Tyre strength performance The requirements hereunder are applicable to diagonal tyres, T-type temporary-use spare tyres and radial tyres with nominal aspect ratio of 50 and above. For strength performance test of tyres, the breaking energy at each test point shall be no smaller than that specified in Table 1. For bead unseating resistance test of tubeless tyres, the bead unseating resistance at each test point shall be no smaller than that specified in Table 2.
