4 Technical Specifications
4.1 Pressure/Temperature Ratings
4.1.1 The pressure/temperature ratings of gate valve shall be in accordance with those specified in GB/T 12224. As for those imposed by special soft seals or special trim materials, the pressure/temperature ratings are allowed to be less than those of the gate valve shell material. The lower value shall be adopted and marked on the valve identification plate.
4.1.2 Double-seated and sealed gate valves for low-temperature medium may be capable of trapping medium in the center cavity of the valve when in the closed position. If subjected to an increase in temperature, an excessive buildup of pressure may occur leading to a gate valve shell failure. Where such condition is possible, a pressure relief device shall be additionally provided in the center cavity of the valve, which shall be stated in the order contract.
