This document is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020 Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents.
This document replaces GB 15831-2006 Steel tube scaffold couplers. In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the following main technical changes have been made with respect to GB 15831-2006:
a) The range of nominal outside diameters of steel tubes has been added (see Clause 1 hereof);
b) The classification of coupler products has been modified (see 4.2 hereof; 4.2 of Edition 2006);
c) The requirements for the service life of coupler products have been added (see 5.1 hereof);
d) The requirements for the material of forged coupler products have been added (see 5.2 hereof);
e) The requirements for the weight of coupler products with the nominal outside diameter of steel tube of 48.3mm have been added (see 5.4 hereof).
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights. The issuing body of this document shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document was proposed by and is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China.

Steel tube scaffold coupler
1 Scope
This document specifies the classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation and storage of steel tube scaffold couplers.
This document is applicable to scaffolds, derricks and formwork supports with nominal outside diameter of steel tube of 34mm~76mm in construction and municipal engineering, as well as to metal couplers used in railway, highway, water conservancy, chemical, metallurgical, coal and ship engineering.
