1 Scope
This document specifies the product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking and labeling, packaging, transportation and storage of potassium nitrate for industrial use.
This document is applicable to potassium nitrate for industrial use.
Note: This product is mainly used in fused salt, black powder, fuse, pharmaceutical intermediates, optical glass, ammonia catalyst, metal heat treatment, enamel and other industries.

5 Classification
Potassium nitrate for industrial use is classified into three categories, with the following main applications:
——Category I products are mainly used for producing fused salt;
——Category II products are classified into two types, of which Type I products are mainly used for producing black powder, fuse, pharmaceutical intermediates and glass clarifier, etc., and Type II products are mainly used for metal heat treatment, producing enamel glaze, etc.
——Category III products are products with inorganic salts anti-caking agents, which are mainly used as fluxing agents for glass and ceramics.
