5 Classification
Potassium nitrate for industrial use is classified into three categories, with the following main applications:
——Category I products are mainly used for producing fused salt;
——Category II products are classified into two types, of which Type I products are mainly used for producing black powder, fuse, pharmaceutical intermediates and glass clarifier, etc., and Type II products are mainly used for metal heat treatment, producing enamel glaze, etc.
——Category III products are products with inorganic salts anti-caking agents, which are mainly used as fluxing agents for glass and ceramics.
6 Requirements
6.1 Appearance: Potassium nitrate for industrial use is white crystal or spherical particles.
6.2 The test method of potassium nitrate for industrial use as specified in this document shall meet those specified in Table 1.
