Textiles - Determination of the content of ortho-phenylphenol
Warning——Persons using this standard shall be familiar with normal laboratory practice. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety problems, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user to establish appropriate safety and health measures and to ensure compliance with any national regulatory conditions.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the determination method of content of ortho-phenylphenol (OPP) in textiles by gas chromatograph-mass selective detector (GC-MSD).
In this standard, Method 1 is applicable to the determination and confirmation of content of ortho-phenylphenol in various textile materials and their products; Method 2 is applicable to the determination and confirmation of content of ortho-phenylphenol and its salts and esters in various textile materials and their products.
2 Normative references
The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. For dated references, subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) to, or revisions, of any of these publications do not apply to this standard. However, parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. For undated references, the latest edition applies.

3.1 Method 1
Extract the specimen ultrasonically by methanol, concentrate the extracting solution to a constant volume, then determine it by gas chromatograph equipped with mass selective detector (GC/ECD), confirm by selected ion monitoring and quantify by external standard method.
