5 Sampling
5.1 Products are inspected in batch. For solid sodium hydroxide products packaged in iron drums, the packaging quantity of each pot shall be taken as a batch; for bagged flake, granular, block and other solid sodium hydroxide products, the production volume per day or each production cycle shall be taken as a batch; for liquid sodium hydroxide products, the storage tank or tanker shall be taken as a batch. For users, the sodium hydroxide products received each time shall be taken as a batch.
5.2 Solid sodium hydroxide products packaged in iron drums shall be sampled randomly according to 5% of the total drums of a single batch, and shall not be less than 3 drums in small batches. Cut the drum skin along its the vertical interface, split the sodium hydroxide, and quickly take representative samples from the upper, middle and lower parts. Divide the samples into two clean and dry wide mouth bottles with stoppers, polyethylene bottles or self-sealing bags, and seal them. The amount of each sample shall not be less than 500g.
The manufacturer can take molten sodium hydroxide as laboratory sample for inspection before packaging.
5.3 The bagged solid sodium hydroxide products shall be sampled randomly according to the number of sampling units specified in GB/T 6678. Unpack the packaging bag and quickly take representative samples according to the provisions of GB/T 6679. Mix the samples evenly, pack them into two clean and dry wide mouth bottles with stoppers, polyethylene bottles or self-sealing bags, and seal them. The amount of each sample shall not be less than 500g.
The manufacturer can take representative samples as laboratory samples on the packaging line for inspection.
5.4 Liquid sodium hydroxide products shall be taken from the upper, middle and lower parts of the tanker or storage tank in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 6680. Mix the samples evenly, pack them into two clean and dry wide mouth bottles with stoppers, and polyethylene bottles, and seal them. The amount of each sample shall not be less than 500 mL.
The manufacturer can take representative samples as laboratory samples at the storage tank sampling port of the fully mixed and finished product for inspection.
5.5 One sample is used for inspection and one for preparation. The sample container shall be labeled with: manufacturer name, product name, specification and model, batch number or production date, sampling date, sampler, sampling amount, etc.
