1 Scope
This standard specifies the heat pump water heater for household and similar application (hereinafter referred to as heat pump water heater) in terms of terms and definitions, product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation.
This standard is applicable to heat pump water heaters for household and similar application driven by motor, using vapor compression refrigeration cycle, with air and water as heat source in order to provide hot water; heat pump water heaters for other heat source or applications may also use for reference.
This standard is not applicable to the heat pump water heater for industrial application.

3 Terms and Definitions
3.1
Heat pump water heater
Equipment driven by motor, using vapor compression cycle, and shifting the heat in air or water into heated water to prepare domestic hot water.
3.2
Air-source heat pump water heater
Heat pump water heater using air as the heat source.
3.3
Water-source heat pump water heater
Heat pump water heater using water (that extracted from water well, lake, sea or river or the circular flow water at underground coiler and usable water for other applications) as heat source.
3.4
Instantaneous heat pump water heater
Heat pump water heater in which the initial cold water flows through the heat exchanger herein and reach the temperature designed by the users in one time.
3.5
Circulating heat pump water heater
Heat pump water heater in which the initial cold water time and again flows through the heat exchanger herein and reach the temperature designed by the users gradually.
3.6
Static heat pump water heater
Heat pump water heater, through direct or indirect contact between heat exchanger and water to heat the water to the design temperature gradually in the form of free convection.

1 Scope
